One of the best tools for assessment in the classroom is a scanner app. If you see a great piece of work that demonstrates a learning intention, you quickly grab your phone, ipad, tablet and scan (it's just like taking a photo) the image, writing, construction, art, mathematics workings, or any other work the children do.
Once you have scanned the work, adjust the edges around the text. This cuts out any anything you don't want and turns it into text just like you've photocopied it.
From there, email the image to the child or upload it to your google drive and share it with the child so they can link it to their assessment matrix or rubric. Have the child reflect on their achievement.
You now have evidence to show their parent, write reports and for reporting to the board of trustees.
If you have older children, you can even get them to do it themselves with a scanner app.
